Byte Retainer Replacement: How To Get New Clear Retainers

Byte Retainer Replacement: How To Get New Clear Retainers

Need a replacement retainer after Byte? Byte's website now states that the company has concluded its operations. You can ask your orthodontist about a replacement or compare a custom at-home retainer provider such as Remi. If your teeth have shifted or your old retainer no longer fits, get an orthodontic assessment before ordering a replacement.

Can I still get a retainer from Byte?

Check Byte's official website for its current service status and contact information. At the time of this update, Byte lists inquiries@byte.com for inquiries. We cannot confirm whether a particular account has an available replacement, refund, warranty remedy or transferable dental record.

Byte's parent company announced a suspension of Byte aligner shipments and processing of new orders on October 24, 2024. That announcement and the current closure notice are different events. Retainer availability for an individual customer should be confirmed directly with the provider.

What are my replacement options?

  • Your orthodontist or dentist: Ask about an examination, a new scan or impression, the retainer type and the total replacement cost. This is especially important if your teeth have moved or you have symptoms.
  • Custom at-home retainers: Remi makes custom clear removable retainers using at-home impressions. Check the product options and impression requirements before ordering. A retainer is not an aligner treatment to straighten teeth.

How does a Remi replacement work?

  1. Review the retainer product page, select the appropriate purchase option and read its terms.
  2. Follow the kit instructions and impression video. Use the impression review page to submit photos as directed.
  3. Return approved impressions as instructed. Confirm the current production and shipping estimates with Remi before ordering if you need a retainer by a specific date.
  4. Follow your orthodontist's wear instructions. Contact Remi about manufacturing or fit concerns, and consult your clinician about tooth movement or discomfort.

Do not assume an old Byte scan can be transferred or used for a Remi order. Confirm the impression requirements directly with Remi.

How much does a replacement cost?

Remi product options currently start at $149.00 USD. See the product page for the selected option and purchase-plan terms. Compare the number of retainers, purchase plan, shipping, taxes, remake terms and any recurring charges. Read our replacement retainer cost guide for a comparison checklist.

Questions before ordering

Can a new retainer move my teeth back?

A retainer is intended to maintain tooth position, not replace orthodontic treatment. Ask an orthodontist to assess teeth that have shifted before choosing a new appliance.

Should I force my old retainer into place?

If a retainer does not fit or is painful, contact your orthodontist for advice. Follow the clinician's instructions for wearing and replacing it. The American Association of Orthodontists' retainer guide explains the role of retention after treatment.

Does the fit guarantee mean I can get a refund?

Remi's fit guarantee and its refund terms are different. Read the current refund and remake policy before ordering. Confirm any subscription terms in the selected purchase option.
