People who grind their teeth can apply up to 250 pounds of pressure on their teeth.

This is why they suffer from chipped, worn down teeth, poor sleep, and wake up with a sore jaw.

Read on to discover if you’re one of the estimated 26 million Americans who unconsciously grind their teeth and my recommended solution that costs 80% less than at most dental offices.

Grinding or clenching your teeth is a medical condition known as Bruxism. It’s an involuntary movement of the masticatory muscles responsible for chewing while you sleep and is triggered by stress and anxiety.

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) estimates that 8% of adults in America under 60 grind their teeth. That’s around 26 million people.

The majority of them are not even aware they’re doing it and would only start taking action once they see its harmful effects.

I see it as my responsibility to share what I know with you and guide you to the easiest solution so you don’t have to wait until it’s too late.

How to Tell if You Grind your Teeth at Night  (Symptoms)

Although an overnight study in a sleep clinic, known as polysomnography, is the most conclusive way to diagnose sleep bruxism, you may not really need it. It’s expensive and time-consuming.

Instead, your dentist would usually tell you if you’re grinding or clenching your teeth at night just by looking at your teeth. We know our craft.

But you can also tell if you experience any of the following symptoms. Be honest with yourself... these are not normal; don’t ignore them.

  • Jaw Pain: Persistent discomfort in the jaw when you wake up.

  • Headaches: Frequent tension headaches, especially in the temples when you wake up.

  • Tooth Damage: Flattened, chipped, or loose teeth.

  • Worn Enamel: Exposed deeper layers of teeth.

  • Increased Sensitivity: Heightened sensitivity to hot, cold, or sweet foods.

  • Ear Pain: Pain that feels like an earache.

  • Sleep Disruption: Disturbed sleep patterns.

  • Facial Pain: Soreness or pain in the face and neck.

  • Clicking Jaw: Clicking or popping sounds in the jaw joint.

You know yourself. If you think you’re experiencing some of these and you know you have a stressful life, then you may be one of the 26 million Americans who also grind their teeth at night.

How to Fix Bruxism to Keep a Perfect Smile and Sleep Better

To the chase: There’s no cure. If there’s stress and anxiety in your life, then that’s one of the ways your body externalizes it.

What you can do is reduce its negative effects.

You can try relaxation techniques and medication, but my advice is more practical and convenient. Your dentist would also recommend wearing a night guard.

In simple words, a night guard is a dental appliance you put on your teeth to protect them against the harmful impact of grinding and clenching.

Right after your dentist says you grind your teeth and you ask what you can do about it, they’ll say they can take an impression of your teeth and custom-make one for you.

They take your impressions and outsource the manufacturing to a third-party lab.

The great plus is that because they’re custom-made for your teeth, they’re comfortable and easy to remove and put on.

The big downside, like most things from the dental office, is that It’s expensive.

The average price for a night guard is $600.

It makes sense. They’re scheduling time out of their busy agenda to take your impressions, ship them to the third-party lab, pay them a commission, and ship them back to their office.

It becomes even more costly when you have that and add up the time it takes to go to your dentist.

It’s a hassle, but I have something better for you.

Remi: Oscar Adelman's Night Guard Reinvented

Started Remi 5 years ago and today serves over 100,000 customers in 🇺🇸

"Over the past decade I’ve lost more than 10 night guards. I was lucky enough to be able to afford to replace them each time with a $500+ option (I once paid $950 at a Manhattan dentist office!) but after that 10th guard, my frustration reached a point of no return. I could never understand why a piece of plastic – even if it is molded custom to my teeth – could be so expensive. While I had always politely debated this with my dentists, I never won that debate. As far as I knew, they had all the leverage."

He started Remi to make getting night guards from dental professionals affordable and convenient.

He cut out the middle man of the equation to serve patients directly.

I saw this as an opportunity to partner with him and offer my patients a more convenient and affordable alternative as well.
